As soon as the weather starts to get warm enough I start getting requests from my son for lemonade. My son is crazy about homemade lemonades. So I always make it at home with different fruits.
The great thing about making a fruit lemonade is that you can actually use ANY kind of fruit in it and just adjust the sugar to your liking!
Let’s make the Strawberry Lemonade recipe today. This one is my Sons favorite.
If you also got fresh strawberries from the grocery stores or farmer’s markets, this is one of the best ways to use them, a pitcher of homemade Strawberry Lemonade!
This easy fresh strawberry lemonade recipe is exactly what the warm weather ordered.
It’s bright and beautiful, and citrusy. The flavors are brilliantly fresh because it is homemade with fresh ingredients.
Why do I love this drink?
- It is a super easy, quick, and perfect summer drink with just a few simple ingredients!
- Perfect for bridal showers, baby showers, birthday parties, holiday parties, or just a simple family BBQ.
- All you need are four fresh ingredients: water, sugar, lemons, and fresh strawberries for a seriously delicious no-alcohol drink.
- And because it only takes a few minutes to make, you can always make more once it’s all gone…and it will be gone fast.
- This drink is a refreshing summertime drink filled with fresh strawberries!
While this lemonade is amazing as is, I like to add some garnishes to make it really special.
Right before I serve my strawberry lemonade, I add fresh diced/sliced strawberries, lemons, and mint sprigs to the pitcher for added flavor.
While this is an optional step, it looks stunning and very eye-catchy.
Skip the store-bought stuff, freshly made lemonade at home is a breeze.
Ingredients required
- Strawberries – Be sure to use fresh strawberries with the stems removed.
- Lemon juice – Freshly squeezed is a must!
- Granulated sugar – This adds sweetness, of course. It gets boiled while making simple syrup.
- Lemon zest – for the extra lemony, citrusy flavors.
- Club soda, sparkling water, or plain water – You can use any beverage to add strawberry lemonade syrup. We prefer sparkling water and soda.
Step by step process
- Take sugar and 2 cups of water in a saucepan. Switch on the flame. Cook it until sugar is dissolved. This will take about 5 minutes or so.
- Wash and take off the stems of the strawberries. Take them into a blender jar. Make a puree using a blender.
- In a bowl, strain the strawberry puree through a strainer and make it very smooth.
- Add in lemon zest and lemon juice. Mix very well.
- Once the simple syrup is cool down, add the strawberry puree-lemon mixture into it.
- Mix everything really well.
- Take this mixture into a jug. Add 3 to 4 chopped/sliced strawberries, some lemon wedges, and a few strings of mint leaves.
- When you are ready to serve add sparkling water. Adjust the taste according to your preference.
- Your Strawberry Lemonade is ready. Give it a try. It’s very refreshing.
Notes, tips, and quick FAQs
- Many recipes call for the sugar to simply be added to the strawberry puree and lemon juice, but I find it works best to make quick simple syrup. It ensures that the sugar is thoroughly combined with the water.
- You can easily replace lemons with limes for strawberry limeade.
- Use the best ripe strawberries.
- Strain the strawberry mixture for a smoother texture.
- Blend and strain the strawberries really well so they don’t get stuck in your straw and won’t clog up the spout on a drink dispenser
- Always add ice to the glasses, not the pitcher so you don’t dilute your lemonade
- Swap the strawberries for raspberries or any other fruits. Adjust the sugar according to the sweetness of the fruit.
- This fresh strawberry lemonade recipe is easy to double, and even triple.
- If you prefer drinks with less sugar, you can reduce the amount used in this recipe.
- Best tip for Party – To keep the lemonade cold and not watered down, freeze strawberries and add them to the pitcher as both garnish and ice cubes. You can also freeze lemon slices or wedges for the same effect.
Start prepping the night before a party. Make a simple syrup, and mix in with strawberry puree and lemon juice. Stir well and just place it in the fridge until you are ready to serve it. At the time of serving, add the club soda, sparkling water, or just simple water.
The strawberries have a natural sweetness. So you can skip the sugar. It tastes like tasty strawberry lemon water.
Yes! You can still enjoy strawberry lemonade in winter by substituting it with frozen strawberries.
Leftovers can be stored by covering the pitcher of lemonade with a lid or plastic wrap and keeping it in the fridge for up to 5 days. This makes it perfect to make ahead before any party.

Dhwani Mehta says
Hi Shraddha… Sparkling water is a carbonated water just like club soda( plain soda). you can use club soda instead of sparkling water.
