Today is a very special day. Finally, I have started making a video recipe. And I am very excited. This is the first recipe video. SO thought let’s start with some sweet recipe and made Caramel Bhapa Doi – A traditional Bengali sweet with caramel Flavor. 🙂

Caramel Bhapa Doi

Bhapa Doi is Bengali traditional sweet. West Bengal is famous for its sweet delicacies. Among them, one very famous, traditional and absolutely delectable dessert is Bhapa Doi or Steamed Yogurt.

Caramel Bhapa Doi

Bhapa Doi can be flavored with either cardamom, saffron, any fruit or with any extract. It totally depends on ones choice. Today I prepared  this traditional sweet with caramel flavor. Caramel is my sons favorite flavor. So thought let’s try this traditional sweet with caramel flavor and believe me the taste so so good.

Caramel Bhapa Doi

Caramel Bhapa Doi is very easy to make. This Caramel Bhapa Doi is perfect for Diwali. Serve this Caramel Bhapa Doi to your guests on this Diwali when they come home or make this for Diwali get-together  or parties.

      Thanks Shubhangi!!!
I got it from India. Grease the container/mould from inside with very little ghee/unsalted butter. Do try and let me know how it goes.
      Happy cooking. 🙂

      Hi Falguni!!! Thanks for visiting.
I used caramel to give the flavor. As I mentioned in the post, you may add your choice of flavoring like kesar, elaichi or chocolate.

        Thanks a lot Dhwani.
You are right, you have mentioned that point in your post and I have missed that – apologizes.
I had little concern about availability of the Caramel, thats why raised my concern.
I like this desert idea and will surely going to try this year.
Will share my outcome with you.

Is this caramel sauce or just caramel… As just caramel hardens as soon as it gets cool…
