Chips and salsa are the heart of any party and staple food in our, in most of, home.

Whether it is Quesadilla, Enchiladas, Tacos or any other Mexican dish, Salsa goes very well with it.

This restaurant-style Mexican salsa recipe comes together super quick and easy with the use of a blender, you can even use a food processor.

The bonus part of making Homemade Salsa is you can control the amount of heat and sourness to suit your taste buds.

How to make Homemade Salsa?

As I said making salsa at home is super quick and easy with the use of a blender. It will literally take your 5 minutes.

I have used canned tomatoes instead of fresh tomatoes which means it can be put together in no time.

As we are spicy salsa lover, I have added Jalapenos too. But if you are sensitive to spicy heat, you can avoid it too or can also cut the quantity in half. In short, use jalapenos according to your spice level.

Other ingredients I have used in making this restaurant salsa are white onion, garlic clove, Cilantro, salt, and lemon juice.

Use only white onion if possible. It gives mild flavor.

Pulse all the ingredients just a few times in the blender. But remember, we want all the ingredients to get chopped up but still be chunky but smooth puree kind. Makes sense?

This recipe is so versatile. Do you like garlicky salsa? Add more garlic. Like it spicy? Add another jalapeno. Want more lemony and zesty, add more lemon juice.

Restaurant style salsa can be stored up to a week in the refrigerator and for a few months in the freezer in airtight container.

For this particular salsa, I love using canned organic diced tomatoes. It gives a very nice flavor and color. You can use fresh tomatoes too. For that, first, you need to first blanch the tomatoes in hot water. Then peel off the skin and make salsa.

Always start with a small amount of lemon juice. Sometimes lemon juice can be overpowering.

If you want thick salsa, drain all the liquid from the canned tomatoes and then make salsa.

Now, let’s learn How to Make restaurant-style salsa at home.

I blanched my tomatoes, taste is awesom but color is not as red as your picture. and it is more watery than I wanted. If blender can help or chopper? or what is the trick. Maybe I overcooked my tomatoes?
    thank you

Did you use ripe red tomatoes? It gives good color.
Keep the salsa a bit chunky for a better texture. Don’t blend it too much.
