Slightly spicy, slightly sweet with garlicky magic, this 5-minute Mayonnaise-based Boom Boom Sauce is so flavorful that takes your snacks to another level!

It is simple to make and one of the easiest and most delicious recipes that are versatile in serving! It goes well with air-fried tofu, veggies, sandwiches, and burgers. Also, it makes the perfect sauce to serve at game nights or parties.

It is vegan, made with ingredients that you probably already have in your kitchens, and can be prepared up to several days in advance, placed in an airtight container, and stored in the refrigerator.

Super Bowl is around the corner.

Besides watching the big game, everyone at a super bowl party always looks forward to one thing: the food, especially easy to make dips!

So I am here with a 5-minute dipping sauce recipe Boom Boom Sauce for your upcoming game day.

What is Boom Boom Sauce?

If you’ve never been to a Sheetz gas station, you may not know what Boom Boom Sauce is.  Boom Boom Sauce is a type of fry sauce that Sheetz serves with some of their menu items.

It’s a mayonnaise-based garlic chili sauce.  The flavor is amazing – there’s a touch of heat, a little bit of sweetness, and a tempting garlic taste.

This sauce can quickly be whipped up during halftime. It is a fun sauce that my guests always rant about and rave about.

It is perfect for serving with chips, crackers, fries, soft pretzels, veggie sticks, pita wedges, french fries, wings, or sushi. You can even serve this sauce with my Rice Paper Dumpling recipe!

Whether it’s Super Bowl Sunday or the holidays, this easy Boom Boom Sauce is sure to impress your family members, friends, or guests.

Why Do I Love This Recipe?

  • All you need to make this awesome sauce is just 5 minutes of your time, a mixing bowl, a whisk, and a few ingredients!
  • This creamy dreamy spicy goodness is great on seafood, meat, or veggies! I also love my burger, sandwiches, wraps.
  • This can easily be made ahead of time.
  • There are no added preservatives, colors, or stabilizers added to it and it is very inexpensive to make at home.

Ingredients required

  • Boom boom sauce is so tasty and combines 3 key ingredients: mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, and Sriracha.
  • Mayonnaise – I have used vegan Mayonnaise for this recipe. Feel free to use your favorite brand. Depending on the type of mayonnaise that you’re using, you may need to thin your sauce out a bit with water.
  • Sriracha sauce – the spicy component to this sauce. If you are sensitive to spice when you make this recipe, you can reduce the amount of Sriracha. You can use any hot sauce of your choice.
  • Sweet chili sauce – I have used Mae Ploy Chili Sauce. Use your favorite brand. Ketchup – Regular or low sodium will work.
  • Mustard – I use Dijon mustard but you could also use yellow mustard or a combination of both.
  • Onion Powder – Regular onion powder or even minced onion would be a good option.
  • Garlic Powder – We like to use garlic powder, but you could also use minced fresh garlic. Don’t use garlic salt in this recipe.
  • Seasoning – On top of the above ingredients, I have also used salt and black pepper powder in very little quantity.

Notes, Pro-tips and Quick FAQs

  • If you are looking for a keto variation, instead of thai sweet chili sauce, you can use garlic chili sauce (the unsweetened version) and add any keto-friendly sweetener of choice.
  • If you want it to be extra spicy, add some cayenne pepper, chilis, or chopped jalapeno peppers.
  • To Make it sweeter use a spoonful of sugar, brown sugar, honey, or maple syrup.
  • This recipe can easily be doubled.
  • If the sauce is too thick, you can thin it using water, pickle or relish juice, or lime juice.
  • If you’re watching your calorie intake, then you can use low-fat mayo or substitute mayonnaise with Greek yogurt.
How to store leftovers?

I store Boom Boom sauce in a sealed glass jar in the fridge for 10 to 15 days.

How to Freeze?

Freezing is recommended if you are not going to finish it within 10 days. Store it in a mason jar or freezer bag for up to three months. Let it thaw in the fridge overnight before use.
