How to make Broccoli Alfredo Pasta?
- First of all, Choose the right type of pasta. Our favorite is Bucatini which is great in texture that perfectly holds sauces every time.
- Now we chose our best pasta, let’s get on the cooking part.
- First, In a pot, bring water to a boil. Add broccoli florets and cook for 2 minutes. With a slotted spoon, remove from water and plunge into a bowl of iced water. Keep it for 5 minutes, drain from water and keep them aside.
- In salted water boil Barilla® Collezione Bucatini according to package instructions.
- Meanwhile, heat butter in a saucepan over low to medium heat.
- Add minced garlic while the butter is warm but barely melted. Cook garlic for 2 minutes over a low flame or until soft and aromatic.
- Now add heavy whipping cream and simmer for few minutes.
- Add parmesan cheese, whisk vigorously until cheese is melted and well combined.
- Season it with salt and pepper. Continue to cook until sauce begins to slightly thicken.
- Now add pasta and broccoli. Continue to cook for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Garnish it with parmesan cheese and Basil. Enjoy with some crusty bread!!
Points To keep in mind while making perfect Alfredo Pasta Recipe With Broccoli?
- To keep the broccoli bright green and tender-crisp, Parboil in boiling water and 2 minutes and blanch in iced water.
- For a smooth, creamy consistency, cook sauce in the slow heat, on high heat the cream curdles and separates.
- For best texture, cook pasta according to package instruction.
- To get a nice garlicky taste in sauce, add garlic while the butter is warm but barely melted.
How to make Alfredo Sauce with milk?
This broccoli Alfredo Pasta Recipe uses heavy cream, Parmesan Cheese and Butter. If you want to make Alfredo Sauce with Milk, you can make a Roux to thicken it.
- In a pan, melt butter over low to medium heat.
- Now add 3 tablespoon of plain flour and 1 tablespoon minced garlic, whisk into the butter to form a smooth paste.
- Add 2 cups of whole milk (You can use 2% or !% milk too). Whisk vigorously to prevent lumps. Cook about 3 minutes or until sauce is thickened.
- Add ½ cup parmesan cheese and whisk until well combined.
- Season with some salt and pepper, cook for another 3 to 4 minutes or until sauce is thickened to desired consistency.

- 12 oz / 340 grams - Bucatini pasta
- 3 cups - Broccoli Florets
For Alfredo Sauce
- 2 cups - Heavy whipping cream
- 1 tablespoon - Garlic minced

- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup parmesan cheese + for garnishing

- Now add heavy whipping cream and simmer for 3 to 5 minutes.
- Add parmesan cheese, whisk vigorously until cheese is melted and well combined.
- Season it with salt and pepper according to your taste.
- Continue to cook until sauce begins to slightly thicken.
- Now add pasta and broccoli.
- Continue to cook for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Garnish Alfredo Pasta with parmesan cheese and Basil.
- Enjoy Broccoli Alfredo Pasta with some crusty bread!!
