Tawa Aloo

I love to try out different versions of Potato Curry to go with puri especially those that do not require too much work. One of them is Tawa Aloo.

Sharing one easy potato curry recipe which is made with very basic ingredients – Indian spices, yogurt, lots of garlic and baby potatoes.

This vegetarian Potato curry is very adaptable and you can vary the heat content and garlic as per your taste.

Tawa Aloo is the perfect and simple Potato curry recipe for Indian Lunch or dinner.

Tawa Aloo

This aloo ki sabzi can be served with Puri, Roti, Phulka or naan. I prefer it with Masala Puri.

Who doesn’t love Puri Bhaji?  In Fact, aloo or Potato based Curry with Pooris is very popular all over India.

Each region have their own take on aloo ki sabzi, like in Gujarat, We make Rasavalu Batata Nu Shaak with Puri.

Tawa Aloo

I do indulge myself and my family to this delicious Tawa Aloo with Puri or naan every now and then.

This Indian Style Potato Curry is a simple recipe with a mix of fragrant spices. The only preparation work involved is boiling the potatoes and marinating the potatoes.

Once Potatoes are marinated well, in less than 5 minutes, you have simple yet flavorful aloo ki sabzi ready to be served with hot puri, naan, phulkas or rice.

Tawa Aloo

Let me tell you that it is an addictively comforting meal!!

Wondering what I did wrong. Mine didn’t turn out that great. They were dry from inside and color was more yellowish then redish.

    Thanks

      Hi Rosy!!!!
Did you marinate Potatoes for at least 1 hour? I think the kind of potatoes you used may needs more marination time. Try it next time and increase the marination time from 1 hour to 2 hour.
And about the color, it really depends on the chili powder you used. Some chili powder gives dark red color and some light red. I would not worry much about the color.
      Thanks.

      Hi
I think your curd is very sour. I mentioned in the recipe that if curd is sour, use 1 cup curd and 1 cup water.
